February 6, 2008 - With a heavy heart...

I have decided to stop taking commissions and pretty much so close up shop.  A lot of things have changed in my life over the past year.  The biggest of which being returning to college to finish off the nursing degree I started 18 years ago.  I have also returned to work at a local hospital to get me back into the workforce.  After having a few health scares, I realized that something had to give in my life.  I'm getting too old to burn the candle at both ends and in the middle.

I will continue to do artwork when I actually have time to devote to it.  But I'm not going to open up commissions due to not being able to devote 100% of my time to them.  It is not fair to those who have commissioned the artwork.  This site will continue to exist and I will continue to post work that I have completed.  More than likely, I will still participate in the Gen Con Indy Art Show.  But that will all depend on how things are going with school and work.

Thank you to all who have supported me over the past few years.  You have truly been wonderful to work with.  I really wish that I could continue to do commissions, but it is just not in the cards at this time.  Maybe at a later date I will be able to open them back up.  But until then, I leave you with this Irish Blessing to carry you through your journeys, wherever they may take you.

May the lilt of Irish laughter lighten every load,
May the mist of Irish magic shorten every road,
May you taste the sweetest pleasures that fortune 'ere bestowed,
And may all your friends remember all the favors you are owed.

August 7, 2007 - I really am alive!

Things have been a little crazy around the Martin household thus far this year.  But I am still alive and I'm still doing artwork!  Right now, I'm in the process of getting ready for the Gen Con Indy Art Show.  This will be my second year participating.  Check out the Gen Con section of my Gallery to see what I'll be showing!

A little note regarding the images contained within this site.  You MUST ask permission before using or modifying these images unless they state they are free for anyone to use.  If there is someone else's name on the image, you cannot use it!  Period, end of statement, not up for negotiations!  I say this because I found a couple of my images that had been cropped down and modified then being used as signatures for other people.  The images that were stolen were commissioned and paid for by real people.  They weren't just general images that I created one day because I was bored.  So when you steal an image off of this site, you aren't just stealing from me.  You are stealing the creative vision of the person who commissioned the piece.  How would you like it if someone stole your character and passed it off as their own?

So, if you want a really cool Sunbur Designs representation of your character that is personally yours, contact me and we'll get started on it!  Until then, look at the Gallery but don't touch!

February 18, 2007 - New Gallery live!

The new gallery database is finally done!  There is one section that doesn't have anything in it yet.  But as Gen Con gets closer, I will have previews of the prints that will be showcased :)

Now the next thing for me to learn is how to design my own theme!  ... and a shopping cart ... and a news page... LOL

February 12, 2007 - Phase 1 done!

I think I have finally come up with a banner image that I like!  I wanted something that would translate out into print as well as it looks on the site.  And with any luck, will also look good on t-shirts!

Also, the preview of the prints is up!  Right now it is just pointed to the previews of a few of my father's poem prints.  I am working on the logistics of actual printing as well as shipping.  I am hoping to have things sorted out by spring.  When everything is done, I will have prints of my fantasy artwork as well as the poetry prints available.

February 9, 2007 - Site revamp is underway!

Well the insanity of a complete site revamp is proving to be a bit more than I anticipated.  Be looking for a totally revamped gallery as well as an all new print store!  During this time, please be patient with us.  Some of this is going to be a learning experience :)
